Gisel carrer in Walmart began in 1992 as a store manager trainee, 16 years later she was named vice president of Walmart human resource organization serving over 3,700 stores in the U.S. Also in 2008 Gisel was recognized as one of the Top 25 Powerful Minority Women in Business by the Minority Enterprise Executive Council. In 2009 she was chosen by Hispanic Business Magazine as one of the Top 25 Business Women. In February 2011, Latina Style honored her as 2010 Latina Executive of the Year. In 2012 Fortune Magazine listed Gisel as one of the top 50 most powerful women in business.
